Web Design
My aim in designing sites is to provide an online herd tour for cattlemen and horsemen - at an affordable price. There are a few things that I feel should be included in a website to accomplish this purpose.
The first is a selection of photos which will give those viewing the site a good idea as to what style and type the breeder is producing. When you are on a herd tour you quickly form opinions about the qualities and traits of the animals you are being shown. If you like what you see, you can then move on to learn more about the animal's pedigree, EPD's, etc.
The next important thing with a website is that it should be updated frequently. Your herdsires or your favorite females may not have changed in the last four months, but maybe you've sold a few animals, been at a show, made a purchase, etc. When your favorite breeds magazine arrives, you don't expect to see the same advertisements that you saw in the last issue - the same holds true for those viewing your website.
The last two essentials are that the site is straightforward and easy to use, and that it is easy for your customers to find.
If you are interested in joining the growing list of producers with a website, please don't hesitate to contact me at any time.
